Start young. If you've got a puppy, now is the time to start them getting used to dental hygiene. But have no fear, even if your pet in his/her teens they can learn to love a good brushing.

By the time they are 3 years old, most dogs already show signs of gum disease (also called periodontal disease). As a result, dogs may be at risk for some of the same problems that chronic infection can cause in people, including heart, liver, and kidney problems.

"Pets don't show pain from dental disease," says Tony M. Woodward, a veterinary dentist in Colorado. "When they're in pain I wish dogs would paw at their faces or stop eating, but they don't."

As a matter of fact, your dog can have a mouthful of abscessed teeth and still eat just fine, Woodward says.

"That's the main reason why people should care about dental problems in pets: It hurts them," he says.

How it works

Emmi-pet, with its unique and patented dental care system, is now setting a new trend for a completely new kind of dental protection and oral hygiene. It is gentle, motionless and does not involve brushing or any abrasive action! This revolutionary method is based on a globally unique patent – the Ultrasonic Piezo-Chip. This Piezo-Chip sits in the head of the ultrasonic toothbrush behind the bristles and generates up to 96 million ultrasonic waves (air vibrations) per minute.

These ultrasound waves are transferred, via the bristles of the toothbrush head, onto Emmi-pet's specially formulated toothpaste.

At this point 'micro bubbles' are generated, which react with the air vibrations and implode.

These implosions effectively eliminate and remove food particles, plaque and bacteria from within your pet’s mouth.

Emmi-pet effectively combats:

- Gingivitis and periodontitis

- Oral cavity diseases

- Plaque and tartar build up

- Bad breath

Ultrasonic Oral Care

We recommend a regular dental routine for your pets and are now happy to offer a maintenance and protection plan for your pets’, in the salon. In addition, for the best oral health we recommend a home routine in conjunction with our service and regular dental checks with your veterinarian.

We may require a consultation with you and your pet to assess their oral condition, suitability, acceptance and discuss the best way forward for each individual pet.

If your pet already has light tartar we may suggest starting with an intensive course to heal gums and promote cleaner teeth. This treatment will require a minimum of 5 visits over a 1 to 2 week period. Each visit will last approximately 30/45 mins. Each dog will receive their own toothbrush head, included in the price.

For pet’s with no tartar or who have recently had a full dental treatment at their vets, we recommend having the Emmi-Pet Oral Maintenance and Preventative plan, routinely and regularly

Each dog will have their own toothbrush head which will need replacing when worn or damaged. This can be added on to grooming visit and/or stand-alone visits.

This will need replacing as necessary to maintain effectiveness.

THIS DOES NOT REPLACE ANY VETERINARY TREATMENT OR ADVICE
